High School Bursary Program


 

 

This program is for low-income Calgary high school students who are within two semesters of graduating from grade 12 and whose financial difficulties are impacting their ability to succeed in school. A basic living allowance is provided to assist students in covering expenses such as rent, food and transportation. Attendance and marks are monitored monthly. Students require a referral from their high school counsellor and are interviewed by our Grants Manager.

To apply you must be:

  • Within your last two semesters of completing your high school diploma or certificate of achievement
  • Under 21 years of age
  • Currently living in  Calgary and have lived here for at least the past 6 months
  • From a low-income household
  • Enrolled in a full-time course load

This program is partially funded by United Way of Calgary and Area, the Pam Andrew Marks High School Bursary Fund, and the Ruth Ramsden-Wood Education Fund.
