Working with selected community agencies, Burns Memorial Fund for Children (BMFC) provides grants to low-income families to meet their children’s health, education and recreation needs. The grants are intended for families already engaged with those agencies and who have expressed the desire to provide their children with opportunities in health, education and recreation but are unable to do so due to financial barriers.
Partnering agencies refer families to BMFC. Our Grants Coordinator works with the families to determine their children’s needs and decide on the grant allocations. There is a limit to the number of families each agency can refer. Please note that the grants are intended solely for the children in the families as we do not provide grants for those 21 years of age and over.
The following are our 9 Families Moving Forward partnering organizations:
- Calgary Catholic Immigration Society
- Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association
- Discovery House
- Enviros
- Miskanawah Community Services Association
- North East Family Connections Society
- Salvation Army
- South East Calgary Community Resource Centre
- Trellis
- YWCA
There are no openings for new partnering community agencies at this time.
